Wakelet – The New Kid in Technology Town!

Have you heard about Wakelet yet? Wakelet allows you to save, organise and share content from across the web and keep it all in one place. The web is jam packed with resources and information to support educator and student learning but it can be daunting to manage and keep track of a thought-provoking tweet, a great video tutorial, and maybe a web page that all lend themselves to a particular subject matter so that they are easily retrievable and shareable. That’s why I am adding Wakelet to my digital toolkit.

You can also search and save Wakelets created by other people, as long as they are shared publicly. Check out this Wakelet showcasing what can be saved in a Wakelet!

Wakelets are organised into collections. You need to give thought to what types of collections you want to create. I have started collections for my own subject learning,  and some for topics I plan to teach such as algebraic thinking and similarity. I love when I stumble across a tweet, a video or a web page that I now have a way to save, store and share all this content. Creating collections is straightforward, have a look at the video below for a quick demonstration.

Anyone who reads my posts will know Microsoft OneNote is my absolute must-have digital tool. So it was music to my ears when Wakelet and OneNote decided to team up. Wakelets can be embedded into a OneNote page!
