“Creativity, Collaboration, and Computers: Practitioner Perspectives”

The Computers in Education Society of Ireland (CESI)​ will host its annual conference on March 1st and 2nd, 2019, in Athlone. The CESI Conference has long been the calendar highlight for Irish educators interested in digital learning and this years event promises to be another must-see. The theme for this year’s conference is Creativity, Collaboration, and Computers: Practitioner Perspectives, highlighting the creative and collaborative nature of the CESI community.

The conference will follow the usual format with both a Friday evening and Saturday event. On Friday March 1st (7pm-9pm) there will be a CESI TeachMeet in the Sheraton Hotel. TeachMeets are informal and feature a number of short presentations and plenty of opportunity for discussion and exchange of ideas. The main event takes place on Saturday March 2nd, in Athlone Institute of Technology with keynote addresses delivered by Mags Amond and Seán Gallagher. In addition, there will be the usual mix of presentations and workshops, along with a chance to meet with experts and novices alike in the use of educational technology. The 2019 call for proposals is now open but will close on January 21st so if interested in presenting at this year’s event, apply before then.
