For Summer 2022, TeachNet in association with Microsoft Education, are delivering 5 blended courses (Face-to-face & online), 3 Minecraft for Education and 2 DreamSpace STEM in the Primary Classroom Join the DreamSpace team for two days in Microsoft Dream Space (One Microsoft Place, Leopardstown, Dublin) to take part in hands-on, curricular focused workshops followed by 3 days online in your own time and learn how to use exciting tools to enhance learning in your primary classroom. In addition the Team will be going offsite to Monaghan Education Centre in August for one of the DreamSpace Hacking STEM courses.
Minecraft for Education
With over 900 primary schools across the island of Ireland participating in Ireland’s Future Is MINE this year, many teachers have wanted to learn more about the role of Minecraft: Education Edition within their classrooms and how these worlds can enhance lessons and provide opportunities to learn curricular content in new ways for pupils. Well, this is your chance to join the Microsoft Dream Space team and do just that!
Join the team in Microsoft Dream Space (One Microsoft Place, Leopardstown, Dublin) for two hands on workshops to Minecraft Education Edition and how it can be adapted for both lower and upper primary school classrooms. At the end of these two days, you will leave this course with confidence in the use of Minecraft: Education Edition (and it’s classroom specific features) and empowered with the knowledge of how this sandbox game can open entirely new worlds of possibility for the next academic year.

DreamSpace STEM in the Primary Classroom – STEAM ahead with Game Design
STEAM, Game Design, Coding – sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. This is where the Microsoft Dream Space team come in. The Dream Space team will be in Microsoft Dream Space (One Microsoft Place, Leopardstown, Dublin) for this two-day EPV course which will introduce you to the STEAM approach taken across all of their educational programs and their alignment to the Irish primary school curriculum.
Across the two days, participants will learn about the elements of game design, storyboards, digital art and coding retro Arcade games with Make Code Arcade (no previous experience needed). By the end of the two days, participants will be ready to STEAM Ahead with Game Design and with confidence in how they can deliver a module in game design in the new academic year (to upper primary school age groups), whilst overlapping with some curriculum areas as they do.

Blended courses are:
- EPV day approved by the Department of Education and Skills.
- Delivered in a blended way (2 days face-to-face workshops and 3 days online) courses.
