Despite the “doom and gloom” and the lack of Government investment in ICT, schools throughout Ireland are taking matters into their own hands and raising funds to purchase interactive whiteboards (IWBs). Drumcondra Education Centre have been hosting the Interactive Whiteboards Project. For the past 4 years, 14 North Dublin primary and second level schools have been using various types of IWBs in the classroom.
The website contains guides to purchasing and using IWBs as well as links to free education resources. David Kearney, the former ICT Advisor in Drumcondra has to be commended for the huge amount of time and effort put into this project (often against the odds).
