The Questionaut from BBC Bitesize games is a very engaging way for students to work through revision of English, Maths and Science. It is an interactive quest, very cleverly designed so that the small blue Qeustionaut (who travels in a balloon fuelled by correct answers) can only progress with the students’ help. The graphics are beautiful, the settings are fun, and most importantly, there is formative feedback with every question. It is amazing to watch students working away at their own pace, absorbed in solving the questions so they can see what happens next. It works particularly well as a cooperative exercise, when each students a role in the groups success.
Warning to teachers – your students may need help and prompting on some of the facts for the answers, but they will beat you hands down finding the keys to the next level!
