Earlier this month the TeachNet Blog reported on Additional ICT Funding Announced For All Schools, a further €50million investment in ICT infrastructure for all primary and post-primary schools. In addition, Paul Monroe referenced in his post, a further €5m of funding that had been set aside to recognise and support schools’ efforts to engage with digital technologies in teaching and learning. Interested school’s were invited to complete an application for same and submit by Friday March 22nd. Just to flag to readers, this deadline however, had now been extended to this coming Friday, March 29th so there’s still time apply if you missed it first time round.
What’s involved?
Schools must complete and submit this application form, together with the required documentation to demonstrate their engagement with the Digital Strategy for Schools. And as the outlined on education.ie, once submitted,
“a per capita amount will issue to successful schools. The specific per capita amount to issue will depend on the number of schools applying and qualifying, and the number of learners in those schools.”
Applications and associated documentation, can be emailed to the Department @ SchoolsICT_TopupFund@education.gov.ie by Friday, March 29th.
