Next weekend sees a unique event, Connexions, taking place in Richmond Barracks in Dublin. ConneXions is the first forum to connect actors from culture, education and digital technology from Ireland and France and to allow them to develop new partnerships, business opportunities and innovative projects.
The event kicks off in Dublin next Friday, September 29th, with a Hackathon. Teams will compete to solve of the following challenges.
- Challenge #1: Getting beyond the main iconic attractions: How to extend tourism further into Dublin 8?
- Challenge #2 Creating links: How to engage the local community to see enterprise opportunities in Dublin 8?
- Challenge #3 Digital literacy: How to encourage young users to become engaged active digital makers?
So if you are interested in submitting a team and solving the above challenges register online and there is a prize fund of 2,500€ if you are one of the 30 people lucky enough to participate in the Hackathon.
On Saturday, September 30th, a series of round table seminars will take place from 10.30 am to 4.15 pm. The topics up for discussion are:

E-EDUCATION: SMART UP!
The E-education round table will discuss the many ways digital technology can enhance education. Introducing it into the classrooms is only one of them. The discussion will ask what improvements can be brought to education by digital technology and What new ways of teaching can develop from using these powerful tools.
The panel will be chaired by Elaine Burke, Editor, Silicon Republic (IE) and the speakers are:

Michael Hallissy, founding partner, H2 learning (IE)
Ross Maguire, Director, Learn it
