Over the past year, schools have received additional grants for computer equipment to update the ICT infrastructure within schools. In TeachNet, we believe that in addition to funding ICT equipment, teachers need high quality professional development to help them realise the potential of this investment. The international research clearly indicates that quality CPD is essential in order to effectively integrate ICT into classroom settings.
This summer, TeachNet is offering 17 courses to help you and your school achieve effective ICT integration into teaching and learning. Four new courses are focused on literacy and numeracy. The IWB literacy and numeracy courses are designed as a follow on from the “Getting the Most from Your IWB” courses.
All TeachNet courses are created “by teachers, for teachers” using the best interactive e-learning technology (click here to view a demo module) and provide practical ideas for using ICT creatively in the classroom. Course tutors are renowned teachers such as John O’Mahoney, Clifford Brown, Simon Lewis, Paul Nugent, Janet Lynch, Emma O’Halloran, Enda Donlon and John Rust.
