The Scottish Perspective
Just before the summer holidays we had an opportunity to interview Laurie O’ Donnell former Director of Learning and Technology, Learning and Teaching Scotland. In this podcast Laurie provides an overview of Learning and Teaching Scotland – how the organisation was formed and their remit in Scottish education. LTS is a national public body with responsibility for the curriculum and assessment in Scotland and they weave ICT into the entire canvas. Scotland has recently introduced a new curriculum – Curriculum for Excellence and Laurie outlines some of the new developments there. LTS don’t overly focus on ICT they focus on how to improve teaching and learning and this is their key goal. He talks about how they support teacher professional development and their role in supporting teachers. He describes their work on GLOW, a national school intranet designed to create communities of practice for teachers. This is a fascinating interview and we look forward to your comments and reaction. So please download the podcast and enjoy.
