Canva AI – code interactive activities for your students!

As a secondary school teacher, I’m always looking for ways to make maths more engaging—and less intimidating—for my students.

Artificial Intelligence can transform teaching and learning for the better – we just need to use it in the right way!

Recently, I’ve started using Canva AI in my lessons, and it’s been a brilliant addition to my teaching toolkit. Canva’s AI features help me quickly design colourful, interactive resources that bring abstract concepts to life. Whether it’s a visual explanation of algebra or a fun geometry poster, it’s all just a few clicks away.

But what’s really exciting is pairing Canva AI with Copilot. Copilot helps me generate lesson content and even write code for simple classroom games. For example, I recently asked Copilot to help me create a maths quiz game focused on fractions and percentages. It generated the code for a multiple-choice game, and I used Canva AI to design the game interface—complete with bright buttons, progress bars, and fun animations.

This combo is perfect for making revision more interactive. Students can even get involved by tweaking the game logic with Copilot and designing their own game visuals in Canva. It’s a fantastic way to blend creativity with problem-solving, and it gives students a real sense of achievement.

Whether you’re teaching algebra, geometry, or statistics, combining Copilot and Canva AI can turn your classroom into a hub of innovation and fun. Plus, it’s a great way to introduce students to AI in a practical, hands-on way. Give it a go!!
