AI for the classroom

Artificial Intelligence has become a hot topic in the las year, but how can we really utilise this technology in our classrooms?

ChatGPT

The first & most commonly recognised AI is ChatGPT – Open AI. This can be a very useful tool used in the classroom, but this AI is only as good as the information you give it! It is an excellent tool to design differentiated worksheets & quizzes for students. The key is to be very precise about what you want the AI to give you! You can also get creative & use this AI to create worksheets for students based around their hobbies or interests! You can continue to prompt the AI to enhance the content by directing it to create more challenging questions or easier questions. The more you give it, the better the AI gets!

Microsoft Designer

Microsoft Designer can be used to create visual posters, designs, worksheets & infographics using AI that will design it for you based on your prompts! Great for those of us who lack the creative gene!! Example below:

Seeing AI

Seeing AI is an application that can be downloaded from the apple app store, it can be used to help the visually impaired to identify amounts of money, people, prices of items, reading text & more by speaking aloud to the person. An excellent use of AI for students with additional needs!

Power Point Rehearse with Coach

An excellent use of AI to assist students in their preparation for presenting their CBAs is Power Point Rehearse with Coach. The option can be found under the “slide show” tab. Students can rehearse their presentation & recieve live feedback from the online coach, they’ll receive feedback on their clarity, their use of filler words such as eh, their speed & their content! A great tool to help students gain the confidence needed to present in front of their peers!
