Hi Laura, Welcome to the forum.

This is a great activity well matched to infant classes and provides plenty of opportunities for observation, discussion, and questioning. The use of the torch on a globe is an effective way to make this abstract concept more relatable for young learners.

The drawing and observation activities are a great way to encourage children to connect what they have learnt with their own environment.

        Hello Sharon,

Welcome to the course, and thank you for sharing your activity. This is a great lesson for helping children explore different materials and understand why we wear certain types of clothing in different weathers.

As an extension, you could show the children a range of environments (e.g. the Arctic, a desert, a rainforest, or outer space!) and ask them to decide which clothing would be most suitable for each setting and explain their reasoning.
