digital technology helps teachers to accomodate the different learnibg styles to pupils where traditional modes of teaching may fall short. Teachers can create a more active learning and engaging environment for learning when using technology. In our school the digital pivot which occured during remote teaching gently promoted greater engagement in digital technology. We now use Seesaw as a continuous assessment tool for our Junior cycle LP1 programme. The long term accountability for learning is now readily available for both learners and teachers. The SSE guidelines help us to monitor our effectiveness as practicioners. In a special school setting consideration most be placed on appropriate use of digital technology as often technology can be used as motivators and distractors instead of etools for learning. Much of our initial digital strategy looked at upgrading out ICT hardware to respond to needs of pupils. This year we are focused on using technology for assessment.
I was most impressed with one note. I feel it is an ideal platform for organising teaching notes. I personally would use it as a diary categorising according to weeks rather than chapter. Being able to sync notes to any device means that your pupils can download all notes for reference at any time which would be helpful to our pupils with broadband accessibility issues. Being able to zoom in on content draws attention to a particular topic and being able to save screenshots ad hoc means that you can compare and contrast topics as you go through live lessons. I imagine this would be very useful for maths lessons.finally i think that being able to tag your notes is going to make retrieving info so much more accessible. One note has been an excellent discovery for me as a teacher as my teacher’s hardback diary may be replaced by One note going forward.

I feel one of the challenges with Microsoft teams could be the the confusing filing structure in my personal opinion.
Another challenge would be the the IT skills of the users and how they would adapt to using teams if they had been using another collaborative online app.
However there are hugh advantages to using teams for educational purposes.
Firstly it is very much work orientated, the focus of the channel is on work and is ideal for educators who may be working with different teams on different projects.
Secondly it creates increased productivity as all team communication is within one channel so there is no laborious searches for documents etc
Finally It is so user friendly and easy to setup that even those that are not that IT savvy should be able to navigate through it.

I feel that SWAY would allow both students and teachers to express their ideas in really innovative ways using images video and text to make online presentations. It’s a really user friendly design that focuses more on the content that design which reduces the time spent focused on presentation.
Forms is a quick and easy way to elicit information from different members of the school community. the design templates focus attention on the content similar to SWAY. Sending the link to a form out by email is a quick away of gathering information. I have had issues in the past with the sharing of links but have realised that it is about shared access on my drive more than the forms settings.
I feel that the SSE process is about information gathering to identify areas of strength and areas that need developement. Microsoft 365 offers a platfrom for the information gathering and dissemination. It makes the consultation process more transparent and straight forward.
