I love the idea of discourse with the Alien! Super clever. Sometimes it can be fun for either the teacher or the children to take up this role as it can be more interactive and engaging. If you were to make up aliens perhaps something tactile like model magic, tinfoil, pipe cleaners or recycled materials is something you could consider.

I absolutely love the incorporation of different folklore! Stellarium has some options for changing sky cultures which might be useful to you during this lesson! If you are already engaging students with software – winstars 3 and open space might be something cool for you to use in the classroom with them!

This is wonderful I really like the comic strip idea! Taking inspiration from funky creatures on this planet can be useful for creating aliens, especially those from extreme environments like in our oceans or around volcanoes.
