      Hi Niamh

I also hadn’t explored the BIM website previously. There is huge integration scope with this website and the curriculum. I think the students would be really engaged, especially with the nutritional awareness and the connection to the real world. It definitely has huge teaching potential.

Being able to include resources like digital simulations, videos, and interactive discussions into lessons in the class on Aquaculture and Social License can help to enhance student engagement and understanding of the topic. Moreover, these resources make the more complicated topics interesting by including visualisation of aquaculture practices, exploring the environmental impacts, and highlighting the importance of the students impact on aquaculture. When the children understand the connection between food production and sustainable practices, it can help students to examine real-world issues which is directly affecting their communities and their environment. Additionally, learning about Social License teaches students the value of community engagement and best decision-making for the benefit of aquaculture in this industry. This will help to encourage the students to think like global citizens and to consider the consequences of their human activity. These learnings will help students build empathy, develop informed opinions, and become more responsible for future engagement in aquaculture.
