With useful alternatives that can greatly improve the educational experience for students with a variety of requirements, assistive technologies have the potential to transform the field of education. These tools, which range from interactive learning tools to speech-to-text software, offer students individualised support to help them overcome learning obstacles and promote diversity and fairness in the classroom. The incorporation of assistive technologies can provide important insights regarding student engagement and instructional effectiveness within the framework of school self-evaluation. Schools can more accurately assess how effectively they are addressing the needs of all students, including those with disabilities or learning issues, by implementing these techniques. This makes it possible to conduct a more thorough evaluation procedure that takes the inclusivity and accessibility of the learning environment into account. By using data from these tools to improve student outcomes and instructional tactics, schools can further cultivate a culture of continuous improvement through the practical application of assistive technologies. Assistive technologies offer teachers a critical sight through which to assess and improve their methods of instruction, in addition to motivating individual learners.

Teaching resources for students with dyslexia that focus on literacy and numeracy. The Kahoot game package has great action. It has a lot of visual appeal. I had never used Kahoot previously because I didn’t realise how many resources it had until this course, and I felt it would of been hard to control in my lessons. This could be helpful in recap exercises when reflecting on the new learning at the end of the lesson. Another amazing resource for students with dyslexia is Immersive Reader. This application’s options, which include the ability to modify line length and font size, improve spacing, break words into syllables, and recognise elements of speech, could help a dyslexic student succeed in a reading assignment. Students with dyslexia would greatly benefit from the visual clues and the line concentration choice. With regards to the to School Development Planning section in the Inclusive Education Framework. As a teacher this gives great insight into the standard that is out there.

Part 1) Teachers can quickly recognise the key components that will help a student understand the material by using the SETT model, which is a great foundation. I am more likely to identify how to support my student in the most effective way when I take into account their needs, interests, strengths, and surroundings. Making use of a school support file guarantees that the most current and relevant data is taken into account when creating plans for the student. This is important because the process may involve a wide range of people.

Part 2) I’ve included a SETT plan below for a second-year boy who recently came to this country and is having trouble writing and reading because of a language barrier. I have emphasised the student’s areas of strength and weakness, the learning environment, the tasks that should be completed, and the resources that can be used to enhance learning. To gather data for the plan, I turned to the student support file.

Part 1) In an interactive classroom my designed activity for a specific group of students is as follows. As a recap activity on new learning, I will create a section on OneNote for the topic. I will then create subsections for the students to contribute towards. The main aim is for students to distribute their new knowledge in an online space. This exercise gives students an option to either make a poster by hand and post it through Office lens or design one digitally on an online platform. All the students work is shared among each other as they all have access. At the end of this exercise students have a bank of information and also have received a variety in their different learning needs.

Part 2) The Cosán: National Framework for Teachers’ Learning is based on ideas that support teachers’ cooperation, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development. It highlights a learner-centred approach and encourages educators to match their professional growth to the changing requirements of their students. The key is reflective practice, which promotes continuous self-evaluation. As it recognises the power of shared experiences and collective knowledge across professional communities, the framework values collaborative learning. Other priorities are equity and inclusivity, which help teachers meet the demands of students from various backgrounds and create inclusive environments. In addition to encouraging teachers to immediately apply new knowledge in their work, Cosán encourages integrated and sustainable professional learning and respects their freedom in selecting their own CPD courses. Overall, these guidelines are meant to improve the standard of instruction and learning by guaranteeing that teachers continue to be adaptable, efficient, and dedicated to lifelong learning.

I use Teams and OneNote daily with my students. I think they are a great platform for online learning in general. In my lessons, I am always looking at different ways to implement literacy in exercises. Before this course, I was unaware of the tool Immersive Reader in these apps. This is a fantastic tool and I look forward to using it with students that struggle with reading and writing information. It is great to know about this tool as it supports literacy in the SET classroom and provides an option for students which is important. I also wasn’t that familiar with Office Lens and Share Point. I will definitely plan to integrate these apps into my lessons because they provide a great resource for the students. When I am doing projects with students these apps can speed up the time process and also develop students in working with technology.
