I agree I have also only used chat gbt up to now. I am looking forward to using the immersive reader feature in Microsoft word as I think it will be a fantastic, encouraging aid to struggling readers. I also will use Minecraft as I think it will be something which the child will really enjoy but benefit from in developing problem solving skills and their creativity.
August 17, 2025 at 11:24 pm in reply to: Module 2: Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education #241507The use of Ai will greatly enhance and transform teaching and learning in the classroom. First of all it has many benefits for both the teacher and the students. Ai creates a more personalised learning experience for students, giving each student the best chance to succeed. It can provide early detection of areas of whereby a child might be struggling but also challenges more able children. Asa result it can help teachers monitor children’s performance, helping them to identify learning gaps in students learning and ways that they can change their teaching to best suit the needs of their class. Ai can also help save teachers time on planning and administrative work and allows them to focus on their teaching. There are various ways that Ai can transform teaching and learning. Firstly it can help create more personalised lesson plans for teachers tailored to students interests. I look forward to trying various programmes such as Minecraft and the immersive reader. I think the immersive reader is an excellent tool at building confidence in children who are reluctant and afraid to read. While there are many benefits associated with Ai, there are some challenges such as it being expensive to implement, the need for further staff training and it may now always provide accurate information due to the biased provider.
My lesson will be an S.E.S.E lesson about ‘The Roman’s’ with 3rd class. At the beginning of the lesson, I will elicit the children’s prior knowledge through have learn about multiplication through think-pair-share and filling a KWL chart. I will then show the children a video on YouTube about the Romans. I will use YouTube Ai translation to support children with zeal. I will auto generate questions from the video using Twee. The children will answer the questions on their whiteboard. I will then guide the children through making their own word problems. I will then show the children various images of the romans on the whiteboard and discuss them e.g their homes, clothing, pastimes etc. At the end of the lesson, I will get the children to create their own question about the Roman’s which 4 multiple choice answers. I will collect these questions/answers and make them into a quiz for the introduction of the next S.E.S.E lesson using Quizizz.
I look forward to integrating Ai into my teaching. After completing this course, I feel I am now much more equipped with a wide bank of resources to make my teaching more child-led and engaging. Ai will help me make the children’s learning more personalised and help me develop critical thinking and problems solving skills in a fun, engaging way. By using Ai, the children’s learning experiences will be greatly enhanced and they will be much more prepared for future possibilities. I look forward to integrating Ai into my teaching to help me create assessments, resources and quizzes saving lots of time for me as a teacher.

I look forward to using the new platforms such as Quizizz and Twinkl Ari Ai assistant to create quizzes etc. It is amazing how much time they can save teachers and how efficiently they create amazing child-friendly resources.
I also would like to use Osmo and Robogarden with the junior classes. But I agree, cost is an issue. A trial would be very useful.
One of the Ai applications which I would like to use in the classroom would be Scratch. While I have experience using this programme in college and having observed it being using in the classroom, I have never facilitated it myself. After looking at this application again, I feel much more confident and ready to introduce it to a class. I think it gives the children a great chance to be creative and time to upskill in coding. I also would like to use Khan Acadamy in the classroom. I have used this app previously in the classroom with infants as part of station teaching. I found that it was an excellent resource as it has a wide range of literacy and numeracy resources which the teacher can pick and assign to the children. I found it useful as a way for children to revise new sounds or letter formations that we covered each week. It also is useful for assessment as it gives an overview to teachers identifying areas that’s a child had difficulties and areas where they were succesful.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I agree, I think Microsoft Speaker coach will be an amazing resource to use with a debating team and it will greatly improve their debating skills. Likewise I also agree about not doing enough for children with EAl. The translation feature will be a great addition in the classroom to aid their understanding and to create a more inclusive setting.</p>
Part 1
I found this module extremely helpful as it gave a wide range of practical tools that I will use in the classroom on the future. Firstly I look forward to using the mIcrosoft Copilot Image Creator. I think this is an amazing resource to have in the classroom which the children will love. I look forward to using this tool in Literacy to develop children’s descriptive language in a fun, engaging, child-centred way. This could also be used in S.E.S.E, drama and the visual arts. I also look forward to using Microsoft Learning Accelerators such as the reading coach. I think the Reading coach resource is such a clever and useful tool for teachers to help cater for all children. I love how it promotes children to read more through the use of unlocking characters and earning badges. I also think that the AI listening to children’s reading and offering feedback is very useful in encouraging each child’s independence and to take control of their own learning. Finally I will also use Magic School in the future along with Twee. I loved learning about how it makes such child-friendly, bright, differentiated resources in such an easy and accessible way for teachers.Part two
These tools will greatly enhance my teaching in the future. After learning about tools such as Difit and Gamma, I feel that I will be much more efficient as a teacher and that I will not waste hours trying to make resources on my own. I also think my teaching will be greatly improved as I look forward to creating child-friendly , engaging resources that will definitely interest children and draw them into each lesson. In terms of assessment, I think I am much more equipped with a wide range of resources to help me create assessments in a much more time-effective way. I look forward to sharing these ideas with my colleagues when I get back to school.
I agree Becky, I also have a lot to learn about AI and assessment. I also feel that it could offer some creative ways to improve AOL and AFL. I also like the idea of using vidnoz and feel it could be very effective in the classroom
In my opinion, AI is a very effective tool in the classroom. Personally, I have a lot to learn about it Ai and how I can use it in the classroom to impact my teaching. When I am equipped with these skills I feel that my teaching will be alot more efficient and my time management will greatly improve. As a teacher I find that a lot of my time goes in to planning and finding resources that link to my lessons. However with AI, I can become more creative – overcoming the blank page problem, suggesting class ideas, resources such as worksheets/games and improving the quality of my PowerPoint/worksheets/assessments. I Can become more efficient and productive by cutting down time searching for new ideas and drafting tasks. AI also gives teachers the chance to differentiate more effectively and to personalise children’s learning catering for the various needs in a class. It also helps teachers create more engaging and effective lessons through giving them a wide bank of ideas to work with and to adapt into their teaching. It is also important to pass on these skills to children who will greatly benefit from having this skill set in the future with employment etc.
