Students need to be given opportunities to work collaboratively in pairs or groups on projects or to solve problems. They need to be taught IT skills and how to use IT and other reference texts to carry out research. They need to be exposed to different viewpoints and how to spot the difference between opinion and research based facts. They need to be given the opportunity to decide what is important and what is left out. They must share in developing and presenting their work and communicate effectively their knowledge. Student work should be interdependent and all students must participate for the group to succeed. Teacher feedback before final presentation is important for self regulation for long-term projects.
The sway activity on 21st century skills is based mainly on developing collaboration skills. However, it is difficult to cover one skill in isolation. In completing this collaborative activity on Road Safety the other skills for 21st century skills will also be developed.

It can be used for lesson delivery, presentations, for sharing of notes and corrections with students, for assessment and for feedback. Digital technology can be used to assist and support students with intellectual and physical disabilities.
The school improvement plan can be used to identify the areas to focus on in a given year. Specific targets can be set. The SMART guidelines can be used as a template to follow.
The digital learning framework supports teachers in embedding technology in the classroom. It also enhances teaching and learning and leadership and management. From shared focus to shared files the benefits are numerous. Putting the technology in place is fundamental however for effective pedagogical benefits we must continue to reflect and critique our practice so we can effectively use the technology to implement the school improvement plan. By putting team in place and taking time to reflect on our practices we can identify areas where we can improve. As with any process a cyclical approach works best. The sharing of ideas and expertise benefits the whole school community.I created the template with the same layout as used on the teachnet presentation. I then created two pages. The first is Research methods for LCA social Ed. As I had already created a sway presentation for this lesson I inserted the sway stretch into my One Note document and it plays perfectly. On the second page I copied the layout and inserted maps and images.
I like the layout suggested on the course, I find the learning intentions displayed keep me very focused. The ability to insert presentations, sways, word documents and pdf’s into one document in one note is fantastic. These notes can then be shared with students. This is especially useful for students with reading difficulties or visual impairments as they can use immersive reader to read the texts of the documents. The teacher can also write or fill in answers on the one note document on the interactive whiteboard or for online classes

I don’t think we have it on our Office365 at school. The learning accelerators looks very useful for struggling students. Reading coach and speaker coach help students make targeted progress.

The biggest challenge for the students is teaching students to navigate the system but the benefits outweigh the challenges.<span style=”mso-spacerun: yes;”>
I used sway as an introduction to the My Community module in Social Education.
I inserted a video on research and was able to stack images so that I could flip through them on my sway presentation.
I can allow anyone to share or edit my sway. I can share the sway with myself in my school account or with students. I believe I will use a lot of interactive resources this year with students with disabilities who need technology to access the curriculum.

I have also created a form in Forms which can be used for my new class. It contains multiple choice, and text answer format questions. The forms and the quiz options will be of great value in class for formative and summative assessment and targeted support. The ease of sharing and grading should enable students with limited mobility and the ability to write for periods of time to complete and submit work that would otherwise have been very time consuming. It was mentioned that these forms and sway presentations could be shared in one note and I hope to create interactive class notes for one particular student next year.
