Thanks for sharing your reflection. I can really relate to what you said about trying to balance planning with having a young family. I think a lot of teachers feel the same, and it’s great that you’re looking at practical ways to make things more manageable rather than trying to reinvent everything.
Book Creator is such a useful tool for differentiation, especially with features like voice-to-text and read-aloud that help children work more independently. I also like your idea of sharing planning with colleagues and building on lessons you’ve already created. That feels like a realistic and sustainable approach.
One thing that might also help is creating a shared bank of digital resources that you and your colleagues can keep adding to over the year. It could save time in the long run and would fit in really well with the whole-school approach to School Self-Evaluation.
July 5, 2026 at 2:39 pm in reply to: Module 1 – Foundations, Computational Thinking, Policy Context and SSE #255149For my reflection, I have chosen the Digital Learning Framework focus on Learner Experiences, particularly encouraging children to use digital technologies to collaborate, create and reflect on their learning.
One strength in my current practice is that I regularly use digital resources to make lessons more engaging. I use tools such as Scoilnet, interactive websites and AI to create quizzes, differentiated activities and visual supports. The children are always very motivated when digital resources are included, and I have found that they help to support different learning styles and abilities.
An area I would like to develop is giving children more opportunities to use technology creatively rather than just as consumers of information. I would like them to have more ownership of their learning by creating digital projects, presentations and short videos to demonstrate their understanding.
My actions for this year are:
* Introduce at least one digital creation activity in each SESE unit, where children create a presentation, poster or digital story.
* Gather pupil feedback through a short digital survey at the end of each term to evaluate engagement and confidence using technology.
* Share successful digital lessons and resources at one staff meeting each term to support collaboration and contribute to our School Self-Evaluation process.Using evidence from pupil surveys, samples of children’s work and teacher reflections will help identify what is working well and what could be improved. These findings can then be used as part of the school’s SSE process to support future planning and whole-school improvement.
