I am fully in agreement with you Michael in that I may have been ticking a STEM box rather than engaging in authentic STEM activities. Liston’s idea of engineering as the core concept is one I need to focus on when designing lessons and tasks for the children. Discovery and active learning that inspires their own thinking and the natural development of associated skills will be my priority focus.
