I have been a great believer and user of technology and how it can benefit both teachers and students alike. My link to the presentation is here:

The Google Workspace tools are suitable for a blended approach to teaching because they are flexible, easy to use, accessible, collaborative, and participatory. The Google Workspace tools can be used to deliver instruction in a variety of ways, including face-to-face, online, and blended. This flexibility is important for students who learn in different ways and who have different needs.

Google Workspace tools are easy to use for both teachers and students. This makes them ideal for a blended learning environment, where students may be using the tools independently or with limited support from a teacher. The accessibility of the tools makes them ideal for students who are absent from school or who are unable to attend class in person.

Google Workspace tools allow students to collaborate on projects in real time. This is a great way for students to learn from each other and to develop their teamwork skills. For example, students can use Google Docs to work on a group project together, even if they are not in the same physical location. The tools allow students to participate in class discussions and activities even if they are not physically present in the classroom. This is important for students who are shy or who have difficulty speaking up in class.

Overall, Google Workspace tools are a valuable asset for teachers who are looking to implement a blended approach to teaching. They are flexible, easy to use, accessible, collaborative, and participatory. These features make them ideal for meeting the needs of a diverse range of learners in a blended learning environment.

I would use this quiz as an end-of-topic assessment tool. It includes a variety of questions to suit all learning styles, such as numeric questions, visual questions, a video, and an image. These quizzes can be shared across other classes within the year group, and the results can be collated to inform future learning and planning.

End-of-topic assessment: This means that the quiz is designed to assess students’ learning at the end of a topic. This is a good time to assess learning because students will have had time to learn the material and to practice applying it.

Varied range of questions: The quiz includes a variety of questions to suit all learning styles. This means that all students should be able to find questions that they are able to answer. For example, some students may prefer numeric questions, while others may prefer visual questions. The quiz includes a video and images to help students to understand the material. This is especially helpful for students who learn visually or who need additional support. The quiz can be shared across other classes within the year group. This is a good way to compare student learning across classes and to identify areas where students need additional support. The results of the quiz can be collated to inform future learning and planning. This means that teachers can use the results to identify the topics that students need more practice with and to plan future lessons accordingly.

The paper “Redesigning Education: Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century” by Hallissy, Butler, Marshall, and Hurley argues that the traditional model of education is no longer fit for purpose in the 21st century. The authors argue that we need to redesign education to focus on developing the skills that students need for the workplaces of tomorrow.

The skill I have chosen to focus on is digital literacy. The new primary curriculum framework highlights the use of digital technologies and places it at the forefront of student learning. The ability to use digital technology effectively is becoming increasingly important in the workplace. Students need to be able to use computers, tablets, and other digital devices to access information, communicate with others, and create presentations.

I would have students address the idea of digital citizenship. They would use google slides to help them create this and the finished product would be showcased as part of a class digital portfolio. The google doc of this lesson plan can be accessed here:

My sample google classroom can be viewed here:

Google Classroom has completely changed the way that I teach. As a learning management system the potential uses of google classroom are very exciting. It can be used to easily distribute and collect assignments. Google Classroom can be used to create and manage classwork, including assignments, quizzes, and discussions. This can help teachers to keep track of student progress and to provide timely feedback.Teachers can share files and resources with students, and students can collaborate on projects with each other. This can help to create a more collaborative and engaging learning environment.Google Classroom can be used to engage parents in their children’s education. Parents can view their children’s assignments, grades, and feedback. This can help parents to stay informed about their children’s progress and to provide support at home.

The use of Google Classroom can have a positive impact on the school self-evaluation process in a number of ways. For example, Google Classroom can be used to collect data on student learning, such as assignment grades and quiz scores. This data can be used to identify areas where students are struggling and to make adjustments to the curriculum. Google Classroom can be used to provide feedback to teachers on their teaching. This feedback can be provided by students, parents, and other teachers. This feedback can be used to improve the quality of teaching and learning. Google Classroom can be used to share best practices with other teachers. Teachers can share their lesson plans, assignments, and resources with other teachers. This can help to improve the quality of teaching and learning across the school.

There are many ways that digital technology can be used to enhance student learning.

Virtual learning platforms can be used to create online classrooms where students can access learning materials, collaborate with their peers, and get help from their teachers. This can be especially helpful for students who are absent from school or who need additional support.

Digital tools can be used to create personal learning experiences for students. Students can use online quizzes and assessments to track their progress and identify areas where they need more help. They can also use digital tools to create their own projects and presentations.

School Self Evaluation Guidelines (SSE) can be applied to teaching by using digital technology in the following ways:

Using digital technology to collect data on student learning. This data can be used to identify areas where students are struggling and to make adjustments to my teaching.

Using digital technology to provide feedback to students. This feedback can be more timely and specific than feedback that is provided in person.

Using digital technology to collaborate with other teachers. This collaboration can help teachers to learn new teaching techniques and to share resources with other teachers.

The impact that developing my own use of digital technology can have at school level (SSE) is that it can:

Improve student learning outcomes. Students who use digital technology in the classroom tend to perform better academically than students who do not.

Reduce the achievement gap. Digital technology can be used to provide personal learning experiences for students, which can help to close the achievement gap.

Increase teacher productivity. Digital technology can free up teachers’ time so that they can focus on more important tasks, such as providing individual attention to students.

Here is a teaching resource from Google for Education’s Teacher Centre that I could use with my pupils in the new school year:

Google Expeditions: https://edu.google.com/expeditions/ is a virtual reality (VR) platform that allows students to explore the world from the comfort of their classroom. Expeditions can be used to teach a variety of subjects, including history, science, and geography.

I would localise and enhance this resource for my classroom by creating my own Expeditions. I would choose topics that are relevant to my students’ interests and that would help them to learn about their local community. I would also create activities that would allow students to interact with the content in a meaningful way.
