Wow I really love your detail outline here for space week there are some great days that I would love to use in my classroom in September. It is all very simple and doable and does not require many resources.

I really enjoyed this module and I felt I learned a lot of great ideas that I could bring to my teaching in September. First space week I do many experiments every day that allows the children to investigate a range of different topics. I usually link it in with stations for the week and I may have to take the children in small groups and they get a very hands-on experience with science week. Some of the experiments that use our floating and thinking the skill experiment temperatures and many more .

I really like your answer here incorporating Weather and animals and how they have adapted to survive in different climates. It would Great way to introduce group work and give different children different animals to investigate

I really enjoyed this module and life had a very beneficial and very practical. There was lots of great ideas that I will definitely be using in the future in my classroom.
The activity I have chosen to discuss is the weather.

I would first discuss with the children’s different types of Weather that we have here in Ireland what is most common least common et cetera? I would then gain the prayer knowledge from different climate such as Spain or Portugal. We would create a weather chart and we would monitor the weather over a number of days and count how many times it might rain or be sunny during a week or two week. The children would then use this activity to create a seasonal chart displayed a different types of Weather that we would normally see in each season and I would coordinate this along with learning the seasons and the months of the year. Science activity the children would investigate the best types of materials to wear in cold, rainy and hot seasons. We would use the welly experiment to decide which material would keep our feet dry when it is raining.

The topic I have chosen is stars I learned an offer a lot in the last module about fun activities that I could use in my teaching of this topic. Firstly, I would start off by reading a book to the children call my pet star. We would use this book as the basis for our lesson and we would discuss all the advantages and disadvantages of having a star as a pet.
We would then move onto discuss star constellations and we would learn to draw and re-create some of them as part of an art lesson. For the children would have to re-create the stars using their bodies, cones beanbags etc.
The children would then begin to re-create their own story where the main character is a star.

I really like this lesson idea and how you’ve incorporated across lots of different subject areas. You’ve included lots of fun activities which I’m sure the children would really love to be involved in. These are definitely some ideas that I will use in the future with my teaching.

I really Like this lesson idea that you’ve come up with here as incorporates inside and outside use of shadows. It sounds like a very interactive and fun activity which I’m sure the children would love to do in pairs or as a group. I like as well, you have included a story as children love to listen to stories that are connected to their learning

I really enjoyed this module as I felt there was less different ideas and activities that I could use in my classroom in the future. The activity I have chosen is the planet song as this is something that I have done in my classroom previously and I feel it has worked very well firstly I would start off by teaching the children the order of the planets that they are familiar with what comes next in the song I would then break the kids up into smaller groups And get them to practice the words together and I will get them to create their own actions for the group group then would teach the rest of the class and as a unit we would create actions for the entire song to the children learn to remember the song for the future. The children then would create a piece of artwork further plan to hold up when it was their turn to sing their verse about their planet.

Hello I really like your lesson idea on gravity you have it very well structured and it is very well and clearly laid out. It is definitely a lesson I would be hoping to use in my own classroom in the future. I think the children would really enjoy learning but gravity and you’ve given a lot of ideas to support this.

hi my name is Claire and I will be teaching second class in September for the third year in a row.
my favourite space fact is that sunsets on Mars are blue.

Are use enquiry base learning in my classroom all of the time it is very very beneficial for the younger children as they love to explore and they get lots of new ideas. The enquiry based learning that I have used over the last number of years is based upon the story of the three little pigs and which house we stay standing against the big bad Wolf. We always start off with straw sticks and bricks, but once the children understand the concept of we moved to different materials to see and compare which material holds up the best.
