I would choose the 12th Sustainable Development Goal:

        Responsible Consumption and Production.

This is an area I am particularly interested in myself and think I would have a good knowledge on to bring into the classroom. There has been an explosion of fast fashion over the last 10-12 years and companies like Temu and Shein are gaining huge popularity even amongst children. We can all fall into the trap of consuming unnecessary things for that dopamine hit but we rarely stop to think about where these products come from , why they are so cheap and who made them.

I’d love to focus on a few things in my school to bring awareness to this SDG.

Upcycling projects – Junk art for example

‘Buy Nothing New Week’ – a week of focus on nothing purchasing anything new but instead, swapping, using what they already have

Community action – litter pick, picker pals etc

        School book/ school uniform swap

Child suitable videos showing the children the conditions of workers in places like shein and temu
