There are many activities for LO2 from the Primary Language Curriculum. LO2 is titled motivation and choice and the PDST have developed e bulletins and many of them have lots of ideas for this outcome. These e bulletins can be found at the following link: https://pdst.ie/primary/literacy/literacyathome/PLC-CTB-ebulletins
E bulletin 9 is all about motivation. As regards this outcome and using technology the oucome describes that children should be able to choosse, listen to , critically respond to and create thexts ina a range of genres. The e bulletin on critical literacy has a wide range of ideas for questioning and oral language. It explains that we need to foster a sense of curiosity in children in order to develop the children’s questioning skills and that these skills need to be explicitly taught. They have also included a great pdf with links to multimodal texts which supports the inclusion of all children in all schools. https://www.pdst.ie/sites/default/files/Developing%20Critical%20Literacy%20using%20a%20variety%20of%20texts%20%2818%29.pdf

School Self Evaluation’s six step evalutaion can be used to inform teachers within schools of their teaching quality and inform them where to go next. Teachers in nature spend alot of time gathering evidence, planning, analysing, judging and reflecting and do this automoatically but the SSE process will help teachers do it in a more structured way and digital technology can play a valuable role with this process. Over the past two years it was necessary for teachers to upskill their technology skills which they should be commended for. With these new skills it is obvious that they will enhance the sse process and the digital learning framework. After completing this module I can understand alot better the advantages to a school using microsoft 365 for Education for the SSE process. By using forms it will be easier for schools to find a focus when using the document Looking at our school.</p>

It can be viewed as a folder with sections in it to organsie data. I used one note as part of a college course but didn’t really understand it’s advantages until I completed this module. It is a great tool for storing information in an organised fashion as well as helping collaboration between colleagues. The tools within one note can be easily used to create and deliver all teaching and learning needs. I learned in this module how to shade and highlight things which will help visually. The lessons can be made more interactive by adding audio and video clips. One note provides deeper learning oppurtunities overall. I look forward to organising and enhancing the one note I have created on this course during the next academic year.

Teams is great in the way of sharing live lessons, interactive lessons, interactive presentations, assignments, calenders, and information. It can also be used for tracking student progress.
As regards the students using teams I would say the senior classes could benefit from using it. It would be great for the students to create their own questions using forms which would provide collaborative interaction learning.
I could see teams being used by a whole staff effectively to organise classroom work and assignments, to collaborate and share files and access classroom material from the one place. The biggest problem I see from introducing teams to a large staff would be the buy in from all involved.-

I have chosen communication as the skill to work on as I feel it is a vital skill in order to be able to enhance the other skills mentioned. The primary language curriculum lists the skills needed to communicate very clearly and they are explained very well. The progression steps are a great way for teachers to see the expected progression for communication. Digital technology can be embedded and used to help with certain communication skills whether it be listening, looking at eye contact, gesture and body language. Communication can have many forms whether it be face to face, virtual etc. During lockdown it was essential that other forms of communication be used.

The use of digital technology in teaching and learning and assessment has been developing in my school over the past number of years.
Because of the recent epidemic teachers had to upskill and should be commended for the fabulous work they did during the various lockdowns using technology.

A Chairde,
I found this module very interesting. I have never used sway before and loved how easy it was to use. It is great for enhancing powerpoints and I can see the benefits for creating useful lessons. It would be a very useful tool for students for creating personal portfolio for learning projects. Sway is very interactive and could be used to create presentations, personal stories and reports. Sway is a powerful tool which will bring learning to life in the classroom.
I have never used microsoft forms before but can see how it can be used as an assessment tool. It is easy to use to create forms, quizzes, polls and surveys from parents, staff and students which would be very usefule when gathering information for self school evaluation.
I will definitely engage more in the microsoft education centre which will help with my technological skills. It is great to have a place that will be helpful and useful for my personal learning and cpd.
