I completely agree, Clare. The Rule of Thumb slide really stood out to me too—it’s so important that both teachers and pupils understand how to use AI responsibly. Like you, my view is shifting, and I’m starting to see AI as a tool that can truly enhance learning and save time.

Absolutely agree with your points. As teachers, we need to be confident and well-informed in using AI ourselves so we can model its proper use for our students. Teaching them how to critically engage with AI, just like we do with online research, is so important—especially to avoid that “copy and paste” mindset. It’s all about helping them understand the value of thoughtful input and encouraging responsible, creative use of these powerful tool

As a special education teacher working with students who have severe dyslexia, I’m really excited about how AI tools can support both my teaching and their learning. One of the biggest benefits for me is how AI can help personalise lessons. My students all have different needs, and it’s amazing to be able to quickly create materials that are adapted to their learning styles—something that used to take a lot of time.

I’ve been using ChatGPT and really prefer it over Gemini and Co-Pilot. It feels easier to use and gives more relevant responses for what I need in the classroom. I’ve also tried Pictory AI and love how it can turn content into audio and video—it’s great for students who benefit from more visual or spoken input.

On a practical level, AI is already helping me with the endless paperwork, from referrals to report writing. It saves me time and helps me stay organised.

I really liked how the module reminded us to take AI at face value—you get the best results when you put in clear, thoughtful prompts. That really clicked with me. I’m looking forward to exploring more ways AI can support me and my students in a more creative and efficient way.
