One NOte and One NOte tools are a valuable in teaching and learning. This platform can deliver all teaching and learning needs. It also gives teachers more opportunities / choice to use different methodologies, especially in Special Education/ school /class support students. When creating content teachers can use a variety of media to explain certain aspects of any topic. Some pupils may only need text, some need a pictorial description, some may find a video or an audio valuable in understanding and consolidating a topic. Different learner types need this variety of media, especially pupils with dyslexia or dyscalculia or EAL students for example.

 

The highlighting, the shading and use of the template make everything so much more accessible and visually appealing for all students. This in turn make learning more enjoyable and practical. Collaboration will also bring ‘work’ to life – making changes and seeing them in real time. I love the idea Laura gave of a shared project. This idea encourages the pupils to work collaboratively, assigning roles and discussing findings/ display/ use of different media etc.

I didn’t realise that Microsoft Teams did so much. I thought it was just video calling! This app is a valuable tool when trying to engage with teachers and pupils. As the ICT coordinator in our school, I find it difficult to deliver information and to introduce new digital tools to teachers. A lot of teachers shy away from ICT use in the classroom and so they are reluctant to try things out – probably because they have so much other aspects to consider! On the other hand the pupils are very enthusiastic about ICT, as it gives them a bit of variety in learning. I will definitely use Teams next year for delivering information, teaching and learning.
