I love how you have structured you Scratch Jr lesson for Infants. I will certainly be structuring my Scratch lessons differently in the next school year
Part 1
Two tools from this module that I can really see myself using are MagicSchool AI and Microsoft Image Creator. I really liked MagicSchool because there are so many different resources available and they can be created very quickly. This could save a lot of time when planning lessons and preparing activities for different ability levels. I also really liked the Social Story Generator and can see this being very useful in my classroom.
I also enjoyed exploring Microsoft Image Creator. I thought the Charlotte’s Web example was a great idea. Children could write a description and then see the image that AI creates from their words. They could then add more detail to their writing and see how the image changes. I think children would really enjoy this and it could encourage them to use better descriptive language.
Part 2
I think AI could have a very positive impact on teaching, learning and assessment. MagicSchool could help teachers create worksheets, quizzes, vocabulary activities and differentiated work much more quickly. Microsoft Learning Accelerators could also be useful for supporting reading and helping teachers see how children are progressing.
There are challenges too. Teachers need to check everything created by AI because it may not always be correct. We also need to be very careful about data protection and never enter children’s names or personal information. Overall, I think AI can be a great support for teachers when it is used carefully and responsibly.
August 6, 2026 at 8:13 pm in reply to: Module 2: Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education #272545Based on what I have learned throughout this module, I believe AI has the potential to really transform teaching and learning in my classroom. I can see myself using AI to support lesson planning, differentiation, creating resources and developing activities to suit the different needs and abilities within my class. I am particularly looking forward to using Immersive Reader, as I feel it could be a very useful tool for supporting children with reading difficulties and helping them to become more independent and confident learners.
One of the main challenges I see around AI is still the fear and uncertainty surrounding it. However, I think we need to embrace AI and learn how to use it effectively and responsibly rather than avoid it. Another challenge is cost. I know many teachers are currently paying for different AI tools themselves, which is probably not sustainable in the long term.
This module has made me wonder what the best approach would be for a whole school. Are there schools that have already invested in AI tools for all staff, and what has worked well for them? I know our school is interested in investing in AI, so I would love to explore which tools would provide the greatest benefit across all class levels.
Overall, I am excited to begin using more AI tools this year and to see how they can enhance both my teaching and the children’s learning.August 6, 2026 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Module 2: Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education #272541Yes I loved Immersive Reader. It was so engaging and can be used in all class levels
Throughout this module, I have really begun to see the huge potential that AI tools can have in teaching, learning and assessment. I believe that AI is something we need to embrace rather than fear. These tools are not there to replace teachers, but rather to enhance our teaching and support our students’ learning in meaningful and engaging ways.
Before completing this course, ChatGPT was the main AI tool that I had used. I did not realise just how many other AI tools were available or the different ways they could be used in education. I particularly enjoyed exploring Copilot and discovering some of its possibilities for the classroom.
I believe AI has a major role to play across all class levels and schools. It can support teachers with planning, differentiation, creating resources, assessment and generating new ideas. For me, one of the biggest benefits will hopefully be reducing the amount of time I spend preparing notes and resources, allowing me to focus more of my time and energy on actual teaching and supporting the children in my classroom.
The potential of AI in education really does seem endless. I am looking forward to using what I have learned this year and also seeing how our school develops its approach to AI, particularly as many of our teachers are completing similar courses. I think it will be exciting to learn from each other and explore how AI can enhance teaching and learning across our school.
I think your last line really sums up Module 1 for me “We need to engage positively, critically and ethically with AI systems and exploit their full potential”.
