Lesson plan using stellarium

Using stellarium with fifth and sixth class children .
firstly we will have class discussion on stars and planets . I will explain that stellarium is a tool we can use to look at the sky .
we will look at it together . We will search and look at any visible planets like Jupiter and Saturn , showing how some planets twinkle less than stars. We will look at Jupiter seeing how many moons it has .
Next week will turn the constellation lines and art and practice drawing constellations .
this is an activity that children can also try out at home . I had not heard of stellarium before and think it will be a great use for the classroom
