The students will explore air pressure and surface tension through a hands-on experiment called “Balloon Kebabs.” Each student receives an inflated balloon and a wooden skewer. The challenge is to insert the skewer through the balloon without popping it. As they carefully push the skewer through the balloon’s thicker, tied end and out the other side, they discover how the rubber’s thickness and elasticity help maintain the balloon’s integrity, preventing it from bursting.
