thank you for sharing a detailed overview of an inquiry lesson. I like particularly how you have identified the vocabulary that will need to be taught.

Do you use a class board of vocabulary with definitions provided by the children? This poster was produced for use with the whole school CPD offered by Curious Minds.

Taking the next step and including colour is an interesting idea and one that the children could have fun with. I find that all my raincoats leak after about a month, and haven’t noted colour as one of the issues, but I’d be willing to explore it, and it would make an excellent inquiry activity, even if you find colour makes no difference. You could incorporate the Investigating Children’s Coats / Irish version maths activity.
