Denise,

rockets of different types make a great basis for space week celebrations. You can keep an eye on Scoil Chaitríona Junior, Renmore where a different type of rocket is launched each day of Space Week – some as demonstrations and different ones built by different classes of this junior school.

They have recently changed their website, but I am sure it will soon be updated with their rocket plans: http://junior.renmoreschool.com/page/Space-Rockets/16559/Index.html

Your plan to launch a range of rockets suitable for different ages is great – Rocket Mice for the youngest and foam rockets for the older classes sounds about right.

At last year’s ESB Science Blast a teacher from Scoil Nioclais had “stomp rockets” and his 3rd class really engaged with the idea and put on a super display.

they might be suitable for 3rd and up, and there is a guide to making them here: https://www.fabscience.co.uk/diy-stomp-rockets/
